Confirmations will come!
Our first confirmation outside of one another and God's affirmations to our spirits was from a worship leader, song writer and conference speaker, Mr. Steven Fry, who was visiting our church in Arizona. One evening after the service there was an anointed time of ministry led by our pastor, the ministry team and Steven Fry. As Kit and I waited in line to receive ministry, in my heart I was hoping that God would direct us to Steven as I was remarkably touched by his spirit, music and the ministry of the dance group he had brought to our church. We had never seen the spirit of God move so splendorous through dance before and truly this man was gifted with a pure anointing from the Lord. God had heard my heart for when we arrived to the front of the church, he was the one that prayed for Kit and I . As we stepped forward he asked our names and began praying for us . As he sought God as to what the Lord wanted to say to us that night, he began speaking words that were prodigious to our ears and hearts. God was using this man, a man who did not know us, to confirm once again the call on our lives! He spoke something to the fashion of this;
"Susan, I see in the spirit a large, towering palm tree, it's imperial branches shading as an umbrella all that lies beneath it from the hot scorching sun. The Lord is showing me that you and Kit are this palm tree. In the end times you both will be a safe harbor for those in ministry that are out on the front lines doing battle for the lord. These people will come to you and will receive refreshment, restoration and healing. Once rejuvenated they will return back to their places of battle in the spirit."
When he finished speaking the precious words that only confirmed to Kit and I what God had already told us, we went down in the anointing of the Spirit of God, filled with an unspeakable joy and a tranquil, soothing peace. We went home that memorable evening thanking God for His affirmation as well as His peace and love for us. It was a landmark that would help us tremendously with our travels ahead!
Our life continued as normal in our little cottage in Arizona. We continued with our jobs, enjoyed fellowship with friends and family, exciting times at our church and though we did not physically see anything manifest from this call upon our lives , we tucked it away in a very special place in our hearts trusting God for the next revelation .
There came a time where the Lord began stirring our hearts to make some changes in our little historical haven. It soon became obvious that the first class God was going to train us in for the 'future King's Tavern' was hospitality and Decorating 101. I guess I should clarify that it was I, not so much Kit, that these classes were intended for, but Kit became my enthusiastic cheerleader, number one fan and encourager every step of the way! The Lord revealed to us that yes, King's Tavern would be His dwelling place, an abode that His kids would be spiritually restored and blessed but that He also wanted this retreat home to be full of beauty, comfort, love, joy and a place that would pamper each soul that He brought to stay. He showed us that He wanted each guest to be treated like royalty with heavenly cuisine and grandiose dining experiences, fine china and crystal, fanciful linens, a music room, crafts, outdoor activities, and that Kit and I would need to be knowledgeable of surrounding community events for guests that arrived from out of state. Events such as musicals, plays in the theaters, fishing expeditions, delightful restaurants, elite golf courses, shopping boutiques, coffee pubs, and seasonal happenings such as parades, farmers markets, holiday fetes, concerts as well as the train and bus schedules. So many things to think about as God desired that each guest-to-be would be adorned with a visit that would bless them not only in their spirits but in their souls as well. The other factor the Lord showed Kit and I was that each guest would stay at King's Tavern free of charge. Yes, their time with us was a gift from God and there would be no costs incurred. Not only was this a dream for Kit and I but each guest would be treated to the dreams and wishes of their hearts as well. Kit and I were so elated each time the Lord revealed more of His heart to us regarding the King's Tavern, so blessed He had chosen us for this special and exciting journey.
